The Leader's Way

Xcelerate is a leadership shaping experience in its 7th year of building students. As we work to develop better methods for training young leaders, we are continually drawn back to the ultimate leader... Jesus!

If Jesus were walking around right now, I wonder how He would build students into leaders? I wonder what He would actually do with a student? With these questions in mind, there are a couple key aspects to His leadership development program we will try to capture in this retreat.

First of all, He poured high quality time into a small number of people. Secondly, contrary to the Rabbinic culture of the day, Jesus chose his closest disciples...and that was simply unheard of. Xcelerate is a high quality retreat for only 30 students who will be chosen to attend. At this retreat, youth will experience short teaching sessions with a variety of ministry leaders; interactive problem solving activities with other peers; small group interaction and times of reflection and prayer. Our goal is to expose students to several leadership qualities consistently found in top-notch leaders and give them practices to help them further develop these qualities.
